As for me, I have never celebrated Halloween, to be honest, I didn’t really understand it. But today I became interested in reading the history of this holiday 🎃
And you know, there are a lot of interesting things, personally, I was most interested in the Irish history, how they started celebrating All Souls‘ Day. On November 1, the church prayed to the saints in heaven, and on November 2, it commemorated the souls in purgatory. And some Irish peasants thought about the «unfortunate sinners» in hell. They felt sorry for them, because here on earth everyone had completely forgotten about them. This is how the custom of knocking on pots and pans on Halloween eve was born, so that the damned in hell would know that they were not forgotten.
I think that no one would like to be forgotten
