Destroy Lonely began his rap career at 14-when he was still known as Bobby Wardell
Sandimanie Ill-accessing a studio setup on his high school campus to record his first
tracks. The Atlanta native immediately showed a predilection for melodic rapping, taking
inspiration from hometown heroes like Young Thug and Future. His first collaborative EP,
2018's NezzusDestroyed, which he made with close friend and frequent collaborator
Nezzus, introduced his unique, narcotized flow-one that would occasionally snap into a
stunning double-time style. Following the release of 2020's, Lonely grabbed the attention
of another At/anta renegade, Playboi Carti, who signed him to his Opium imprint. With this
new home and supportive infrastructure, Destroy Lonely began to flourish creatively,
dropping vibrant, futuristic albums like 2022's NO STYLIST and 2023's If Looks Could Kill.
The latter is highlighted by the guitar-heavy title track, a new color in Destroy Lonely's ever-
growing palette.
