On this day, in 1969, Tupac‘s mother, Afeni Shakur, and other members of the Harlem chapter of the Black Panther party were arrested and put in jail for conspiracy to blow up various landmarks in New York City. Afeni, pregnant with Tupac, acted as her own attorney in what came to be known as the trial of the Panther 21.
