“War Child” is inspired by a real child named Nikita, who managed to escape from the war zone to a safer area.
«I lived nearby for several months and observed how restrained and energetic he was at the same time, and I tried to imagine what might lie ahead for him. It became a message to all people living amid the decline and devastation caused by wars around the world, and especially to the young, who will be able to build something new on the ruins, learning from our mistakes and not repeating them.
Coming from this trauma, we try to find hope and learn to build our reality on agreement and shared values, with room for different perspectives, where everyone has a choice and takes responsibility for it. In diversity and harmony, we see a way out.» - Andrey Zaporozhets.
This is a call to people of different cultures, religions, and worldviews: “We should find a better way.”
