Vuol dire che si lascerà alle spalle quel pop/R&B ad alto tasso erotico che l’ha contraddistinto negli ultimi diciassette anni? No: Derulo non rinnega il passato ma non vuole rimanere legato a un’immagine che ormai gli va stretta.
Il commiato al “vecchio Jason” viene dato nel modo che più gli è congeniale, ovvero in grande stile, con un progetto sia discografico che dal vivo appropriatamente intitolato “The Last Dance”. La prima parte dell’album è uscita a gennaio, la seconda arriverà verso la fine dell’anno e segnerà l’inizio del nuovo corso.

[ENG] Jason Derulo is changing. Among time passing by, the responsibilities of fatherhood, and a general rethinking of priorities and goals, the artist of Haitian origins says he’s ready to enter a new, more mature phase of his artistic identity and musical output.
Does this mean he’ll be leaving behind the highly passional pop/R&B that has distinguished him for the past seventeen years? No: Derulo isn’t denying his past, but he doesn’t want to remain tied to an image that’s no longer enough for him.
He’s saying goodbye to “old Jason” in the way he’s most comfortable with – in grand style, with a project both in studio and on stage, appropriately titled “The Last Dance.” The first part of the album was released in January, with the second arriving later on during the year, marking the beginning of his new era.
