'Something I never thought id do, but here we are. 10 years ago I was a beer guzzling, kebab munching smoker. Having kids really made me knock all those bad habits on the head (excuse the pun), and I got heavily into exercise and moderation. I started off this year doing dry jan, and just carried on being sober and exercising. I did a lot of reformer pilates and got in the best shape of my life. I kept joking that I was gonna do a Men’s Health cover, then one day was just like ‘why not’. The article is out online today, where I chat more about moderation and balance, if youre interested have a read. Thanks to @alastairthomas_pt and Cherry for getting me into fitness and changing my lifestyle over the last 5 years, and thanks to Matt and everyone at @mkreformed_ for training me on the road this year and teaching me reformer. Play super deluxe out now. It was so hard to choose the songs for this album, it was such a vast creative experience, but going to india brought it all together. I wanted to put on the songs that had been created outside of India too. There’s 14 songs that aren’t on the main album, which is kind of an album in itself, so I hope you have fun digging into them. They’re different themes, genres, collaborators, but all within the Play sphere. When I make albums I deep dive into as much as I can and whittle down, but sometimes you love some songs so much they have to see the light of day. This is what this deluxe is. 2025 is coming to an end now, it was the year of Play for me. Next year we start the Loop tour and il be finishing whatever is next. Thank you so much for all the love this year its been incredible. Go check out the super deluxe now on all platforms x

I set up @edsheeranfnd because every child deserves to have access to a meaningful music education, and the chance to experience the joy and confidence that musical expression can bring.
Shortly after setting up my foundation, I wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister about the critical state of music education in the UK and the fact it was slipping through the cracks. The letter was backed by so many incredible people across the music industry and education who all said the same thing: music education matters. The Prime Minister replied, recognising the challenges and expressing his commitment to change.
With the help of the letter and everyone who signed it, I’m happy to say that some of the key points we raised have been recognised by the government today, marking the first change to the music curriculum in over 10 years. This involves diversifying the music genres taught in schools and removing outdated systems that stop kids from studying music and the arts as part of their school day. These changes give young people hope and the opportunity to study music.
Without the encouragement I received in school, especially from my music teacher, I wouldn’t be a musician today, and I know so many of my peers feel the same. My music education went beyond learning and playing. It helped me find confidence in myself, and music itself was - and still is - so important for my mental health.
There’s a lot more to do to support music education, especially our music teachers, but this is a step in the right direction.
Thank you so much to everyone who signed and supported the letter.
Today is a good day x

Making and finishing Play in India was such a fun experience, but being there over the last decade touring and meeting local artists, ive been introduced to all types of music and cultures. I wanted to represent as much as I could on this EP, il give a rundown below
1. Symmetry ft @karanaujla - Karan is culture, and I love the movement hes making with Ikky at the moment. It’s been so cool watching the thing hes built, and becoming a part of that world and journey. He taught me the punjabi bits on this song in the studio, and we got to shoot an amazing video for it too. I feel like this is the beginning of our collaborative journey, I’m so excited to create more
2. Dont Look Down ft @hanumankind , @dhee___ , @musicsanthosh - I loooove HMK, and got the opportunity to meet him at Coachella and catch his show. I was obsessed with the energy and feel of it all. We connected then and have been speaking since about working together, then this came up. Santhosh is one of the greatest film composers, and also introduced me to Dhee who is such an amazing talent and voice. I wanted to represent south india on this EP and the beautiful Tamil language, and they have done such an amazing job fusing all of this together
3. Sapphire ft @arijitsingh - everyone already knows the story to this, but going to Jiaganj with my dad to create this with arijit is one of my favourite memories in my musical career
4. Heaven ft @jonitamusic - I met Jonita 2024 when I played my big show in Mumbai, and got to then do some shows with her the following year when I came back for tour. In short, I’m a fan. I love her voice, the tone, the softness. This was the perfect tune for us to do together, and is also the first Hindi song I have released. Its an honour to do it with her, what a talent
The EP is out now, ive loved this collaboration process so much, I hope you enjoy it, and hopefully discover new things. Loads of love x
I made an EP of remixes for Play with some incredible Indian artists. It’s out friday, along with the music video for Symmetry featuring @karanaujla, which is amazing x

Play is the album that’s made me fall in love with fun again. Writing and recording Subtract was so cathartic but also so heavy. Going into Stereo after Mathematics ended I wanted to start with the polar opposite. Play celebrates love, life, culture, exploring, creativity and technicolour. I’ve loved making this record and the last 6 months have been just what I needed to get back into the swing of things - to reheat my love for pop, and popping up. It’s an album I’m immensely proud of, and just makes me feel good. I hope it does the same for you. Thank you to all my insanely talented collaborators, and all the fans along the journey who have been at all our pop ups. More to come. Play is out now, lemme know in the comments what your fav song is x
Collab capsule with @kidsuper drops today at their store in Williamsburg. Had so much fun making this with Colm, super playful, super creative. I love them, wearing the pink hoodie now as we speak. Get down there from 11am, try grab something fast it’ll all go soon. I’ll be down there later tonight so pop in
When the Divide tour ended in 2019, I had already planned Mathematics in my head. It was inspired by conversations I’d had with Michael Gudinski about playing my show in the round, a 360 view, much like the U2 tour. But we wanted to create a cable knit system that held up the PA to allow more people to see the show. The cable knit system is complex, and had been done only once before, but as a permanent structure by someone else, but no one had attempted to make it portable, and built and rebuilt every week. My touring team are incredible. they have made the impossible happen week in week out, and are some of the hardest working people in the business, thank you to them for everything we’ve achieved on this tour. Thank you to the amazing musicians I share the stage with week in week out, and the guests and openers I’ve had the honour of having on this run. I’m constantly inspired and challenged, I love it. Thank you to the 10 million fans who have moved heaven and earth to come to these shows. These shows don’t happen without you, it’s been the best professional experience of my life. And lastly thank you to my family. Cherry, Ly and Jupes, my girls, my everything. This tour was made more incredible by being able to share my dream coming true with the 3 people I love most in the world. Mathematics is fully over now, what a finale. Play is out Friday, and the next decade is dedicated to Stereo, on a Loop. Until then. Love you all x
My original Camera music video idea was using private home footage of mine and Cherrys key moments of our relationship. But as you guys know, we are an intensely private couple, and some things we wanted to keep just for us. So I recreated a few key moments of our relationship for the music video with the wonderful @phoebedynevor . It was so fun shooting this video, almost felt like a holiday for the whole shoot. It was all done on iPhone, and directed by the wonderful @emilnava . Hope you guys love the song, and the video. Both mean the world to me. Camera out September 12th with Play x

4 shows in Copenhagen, it’s been magical. Had to give @lukasgraham a call and get him up for this. Hometown hero, and what an incredible song to sing. I feel like our careers mirror each others in so many ways, but hanging with him today I’ve realised how much our lives mirror each others too. Was so an honour sharing a stage with you man, thank you for giving such a special moment for the penultimate weekend of this tour. It all ends next weekend, see you there, and love you all x
When I started painting, I only did it for fun and to give to friends. When @heni approached me to put some work in an exhibition, I said I would only do it if my proceeds could go to my music foundation, coz I loved the idea of art funding art. After 6 weeks of the exhibition being up, we’ve sold all the paintings, and a lot of prints / merch. We’ve raised $1.25M usd from it all, which will do absolutely incredible things for the youth in UK. I’m so grateful to Heni for giving me a platform and a space to create and exhibit. And thank you to everyone who came down to the show to see my paintings. All we raised will go a long way to bring the arts to everyone, all over Britain. Loads of love x
I was a Stan growing up of @eminem, everyone knows the story of me learning his raps and curing my stutter. The surreal thing for me is to be on the other side of the curtain now, and having him as a friend and collaborator. I got interviewed for his Movie, Stans, and it’s out now in the US, tomorrow in UK/EU x
I’ve known @1.cuz now for a long time, weve become close friends, we’ve collaborated on a #1 song together, and I love him as a human being. We played 2step together at his show on Thursday, so I said we should do Försent at mine, if he taught me Swedish. How was my Swedish ? Love you Stockholm, til next time
Talking Body is like crack to me, I’m still obsessed with it 10 years later. It was the first song on my party playlist way back when, and it was such a buzz getting to play with @tovelo tonight in Stockholm. She’s incredible at everything, but it was magic tonight. Bloody love being back in Sweden x

Overwhelming response to this song and video. Releasing something this personal always feels really bare and open, but I always find the deeper and more honest I go with lyrics, the more people connect to it. Also, who knew I looked so amazing in a wedding dress. The sound is up now if you wanna start making videos directed to your exes with the song, I wanna see em all, get creative gang
I hadn’t worked with @rupertgrint in 14 years since Lego house, so didn’t know if he’d say yes to this idea. But I’m so glad he did. It’s such a fun, bonkers video. Longest video shoot I had ever done at that time, and deffo the most costume changes. Shout out to @emilnava for always bringing my mad ideas to life. And @nathalieemmanuel too for being amazing. Rupert, my brother from another mother, thank you for throwing yourself into this, it wouldn’t exist had you said no. A Little More out now x
14 years later me and @rupertgrint are reunited. I had this wild idea after writing the song, and thankfully rupert was up for it. It’s an utterly bonkers video for a very upbeat, fun, but angry song. Think this one is gonna be a lot of people’s fav song from Play. Out Thursday, watch out for more stuff coming x
So fun rocking Oslo tonight with @sigrid hometown hero. She’s one of the coolest, really appreciate her flying over for this show, felt only right to have her come and sing this for everyone tonight. I’ve loved her music for years but now I know she’s as cool as I thought she was, if not cooler. Such a fun time. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album when it comes out x
One of my fav experiences ever in my career was going to Jiaganj Azimganj with my dad to go and see @arijitsingh for the final jigsaw piece of Sapphire. It was a 24 hour trip, and felt like a pilgrimage of music. After a 5 and a half hour drive when we landed, we arrived, Arijit took us on a boat to see the sights. talked, ate, drunk coffee. then once we were in the studio he taught me how to sing in Punjabi, and a bit of Sitar. We then went on a late night scooty ride, with me on the back of Arijits bike and my dad on the back of his securities. We listened to prayer by the river and talked about music. it was honestly one of the most amazing days in my musical career, and was the ending of a beautiful journey of this song, but beginning of something bigger. i love this version of the song, its the one i listen to every morning with my daughters, because i love Arijits voice, tone, flow and rhythm. i hope you feel the same way i do about it. thank you Arijit for your time, grace and talent. Sapphire feat. Arijit out now on all platforms
Starting a brand new tour next year called the LOOP tour. New stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in. We kick it off in Australia and New Zealand in Jan, Feb, March 2026, which is always the best time, I can’t wait to be back. Tickets on sale Tues 29th July, see you all there x

One of the best weekends of my professional career. Thank you @ipswichtown, and thank you everyone who made such an effort to come to those shows. Until the next time x
I saw @jamesblunt when I was 13 opening for @eltonjohn at Portman Road. I bought his album that day, then got obsessed. My dad took me to Cambridge junction to see him months after, and he became my favourite singer songwriter. His songs moulded me, his performing inspired me. I wanted to be him. I wanted to be him so much that I signed to the same management as him. I wanted to be him so much I signed to the same record label as him. I sometimes have to remind myself how much he means and meant to me, because we’ve been mates for well over a decade now. I’m godfather to his son. He’s one of my close mates. But I sometimes forget that I was a 13 year old boy who got obsessed with a singer songwriter called James Blunt. I covered his songs at the school talent show. I went to numerous gigs. I am a fan. But I’m now also a friend, which is super weird actually when I think about it. I asked him to do the final night at ipswich because of that gig 21 years ago where I saw him at the same venue. And I asked him to sing my favourite songs of his tonight, because he, and the song, mean so much to me. Thank you James for coming today. I know you finished your South American tour two days ago, and you should be resting, but you flew to ipswich to sing with me. And it meant the world. Top 3 favourite moments on stage of all time for me. Don’t meet your hero’s, unless your hero’s are James blunt. Love you mate xx.
I wanted to bring on some new talent tonight in ipswich. This is one of my fav songs of the year, and such a huge talent. I’m so happy that gems like this are still being found in the UK, I think she’s gonna be massive. Skye thank you for your time and spellbinding voice, and for being so cool. All my team loved you and your team, keep crushing it, can’t wait to hear what you do next. Anyone that hasn’t heard Family Matters, go listen to it immediately, and keep an eye on @skyenewman__ she’s the next massive thing to come out of this island x
The reason I wrote Shape of You was that I wanted to go in the studio with one of the men that was behind Flying Without Wings - @rokstoneprod . One of my favourite songs of all time. I used to pretend I was in @westlife when I was like 9. But tonight I got to actually be a member, playing with Steve and @beogamusic on stage for the homecoming shows at @ipswichtown . Just pure magic. Thank you for flying over lads, will never forget that moment x
So last year in between shows I was doing these paintings. I love painting, more for fun and to give to friends, but this time I was encouraged to do a show of them by @damienhirst and @heni . I paint when I’m not working on a record, just to do something creative with my brain. And it’s mostly just splashing colours on canvases, think Jackson Pollock but with colourful house paint. I am by no means ‘an artist’, but I do love making art, it makes me feel great, and I love the end result. The show is gonna run from 10th July to 1st August at the heni gallery in soho. The paintings are for sale if anyone fancies it, and my proceeds from them will all go into the @edsheeranfnd so art will fund art. I like the idea of that. There’s also prints and other merch available, all quite fun. If you happen to be in soho over the next month pop in. The opening preview of Cosmic Carpark Paintings is this Thursday 10th July from 2pm-8pm. Enjoy !x
Sapphire has been out a month now. It’s been incredible playing it on tour, seeing the reaction with audiences in real life. But also seeing India embrace it and see it go number one there makes me so happy. The video is flying too, that was so fun to make and see so much of the country and culture. Only 2 months left of the Maths tour til it’s done, but when it ends Play comes out the week after and we start on the next journey, so much more to come x
Used to play Teenage Dirtbag with my high school band when I was 12. We reformed after 22 years to play our mates wedding in April, but we had so much fun I asked them to come rock it with me at a stadium. I cheekily asked Brendan from @wheatusofficial to come over and rock it with us, and being the ledge that he is, he did. One of my fav moments ever on stage, thank you Brendan. What a night x
12 years ago I was at a mates wedding in Ibiza, I woke up to an email from Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh saying can you come to NZ and watch an early cut of The Desolation of Smaug, and maybe write the end credits song. I was on the first plane there from that moment. Landed, saw the cut, wrote I see fire that day as soon as I’d seen it, and then spent the rest of the week producing it and recording bits. It was the first song I’d produced solely myself, written solely myself and played every instrument on it (except the cello ironically considering I can play that and can’t play violin but still played that). I was so honoured to be part of the movie, such a massive Peter and Fran fan, and such a huge Tolkien fan, it felt like a dream being involved. I then got to do the press tour with all the actors which was so surreal for a 22 year old who 4 years before was playing empty bars in UK. The song was my first proper European hit, and still today is the song lots of people were introduced to me on. It hit a billion streams this week, which made me reminisce about those moments in 2013 that I will never forget. Thank you Peter, Fran + Katie for giving me such amazing memories, and a song that has reached a billion people x
creating Sapphire was a real journey, it spanned 2 years, and many continents to make it happen. it taught me new things about music and creating, and i’m so grateful to all the amazing people i got to work with making it happen, full making of video on youtube, check it out x

Been a fan of Olivia’s since Drivers License blew my mind back at the start of 2021. Both albums are no skips for me, I’m a proper fan. We first met at the rock and roll hall of fame back in 2022, sat next to each other with her mum and my dad and went on to hang and keep in touch from there. Was gonna go watch the show anyway but she hit me and asked to sing The A Team with her, which was such a buzz. That song turns 15 this year, and I remember playing it to rooms with no one in it in 2010, so to still be playing it to new fans with one of the brightest stars of the next generation is an honour and a privilege. Rock Glasto headline Sunday @oliviarodrigo , UK loves you x
Wrote the music for drive with @johnmayer and @blakeslatkin in Los Angeles in the studio together, but the melody we got for it was just mumbles for the first bit. I only had the lyric ‘just drive’ in my head. I wanted to live with the movie more and work out what I was gonna say / sing about. Wanted to make it about Sonny’s (Brad Pitts characters) journey, and get some phrases from the movie in it etc. once I had lived with it, I wrote the lyrics on the drive down to Butlins for a mate’s stag do in @nicminns car. I like that Butlins and the @f1movie are now intertwined in my mind. Movie is out now, go check it out, it’s a belter. This is the end credits, and works great x
It was such a pleasure having @pierregarniermusique on stage tonight, but also just to hang out with him before the show. Such a talent, such a lovely guy. I’d say my French needs work though eh, I failed German GCSE didn’t even take French but here we are bruvva. Thank you Pierre, thank you Lille x
i got asked to do a song for the @f1movie . i knew that i wanted to make a proper rock song for it, a proper driving song. something you’d wanna turn up to the fullest amount whilst driving. i wrote it in the studio with @blakeslatkin and @johnmayer , then we got @pino_palladino_official_ and Dave Grohl to be the final jigsaw pieces of the song. pure dream team for the genre of rock, and i really feel what we created fits the scene in the movie so well. i LOVE making songs for movies, ever since i did I See Fire for The Hobbit. it really lets me as a movie fan, behind the curtain, help create the perfect song for a scene in a movie. Movies and art are the only hobbies outside of music i really have, and i love my time at the f1 whenever i get to go play there. so this was like a match made in heaven. i’m so honoured to work with such great musicians on it, and hope you guys love the end result. drive out now

I sat down at my favourite Indian restaurant Gymkhana to talk about the making of the music video of Sapphire with @liampethickphoto and @nicminns who I did the video with. The making of shows all the BTS and what we went through to get each shot. We filmed the whole thing over 3 weeks which must be my longest video shoot in history, but boy was it worth it. I love you India, full video on YouTube now x
Piccola Stella is such a special song, it was such a massive honour to sing it with @ultimopeterpan tonight in Rome. I’m very grateful for our friendship and to share moments like this with him. What a concert. Grazie Roma x
i first became aware of @arijitsingh music when i watched Aashiqui 2 and heard Tum Hi Ho. I was proper spellbound by his voice, the song, the scene in the movie. I checked him out, and got in touch, and said whenever you wanna sing together i’m down. he was playing london, so i went to guest with him and sing Perfect there, it was an incredible show. I played him an early version of Sapphire in the dressing room, and he instantly had ideas for instruments and melodies. We then were pen pals over email for a bit, until I was in India for tour. I said to him, we should finish this in person, and he said, please come to my home town so I can show you my home and culture. I was with my dad on tour, which is a rarity to get so much one on one time with him. Me and him got a flight to Kolkata, then a 5 and a half hour drive to his home town. We arrived, went on a barge down the river which was stunning, then got a scooty back to the studio where we finished the song. Arijit taught me Punjabi and how to pronounce it all properly, and showed me Sitar. We then had dinner, and scooted around the village to see the sunset and moon with my dad. was a proper core memory i’l always cherish with my father, and i’m honoured to have created in this way with Arijit. He’s one of the most talented humans ive ever met, and i’m so grateful he shared his talent with me for this song. The full Punjabi version we recorded will be out in a couple of weeks, but until then I’ll be drip-feeding fun videos from our time together. enjoy !
So honored to have @sopranopsy4 , proper home town hero and friend, come out in Marseille tonight and light up the stadium. Thank you brother ! What energy x
Sapphire was the first song i finished for Play that made me know where the album was heading. It’s why I finished the recording process in Goa surrounded by some of the best musicians in India. It was an incredible creative process. I shot the music video with @liampethickphoto and @nicminns across my India tour earlier this year, we wanted to showcase the beauty and breadth of the country and its culture. The final jigsaw piece for me was getting @arijitsingh on the record, i’ll make a post about that in a few days but it was a journey to get there and such an amazing day of music and family. Me and him have done a full Punjabi version of the song that will come out in the next few weeks, which has a lot more of him on it. This is the album version of the song, and my favourite song on the album. Hope you guys love it. Sapphire out now x

First show back for Mathematics in a long time. Honestly I get so low confidence sometimes in the music I put out still, I dunno how to explain it but I feel moments like this remind me how much I love what I do, and how much these songs connect, and how much I appreciate you guys for making me feel this feeling I’ve felt on stage since I was 11. I love being on the road and sharing these moments with you. Such an incredible night and an incredible feeling, thank you for making me feel so loved Madrid. See you tomorrow x
I know I’ve said before about Azizam showing me how close Iranian and Irish music culture is linked, but the more I travel the more I realised how all music is interconnected with rhythms and scales. I wanted to showcase this on this video, with 5 different bands from 5 different cultures from around the world. This was so fun to do, thank you to everyone involved, this is why I love making music. Azizam jam session out now on YouTube x
I wrote Old Phone jet lagged in Goa at 3am on my own before anyone woke up. When everyone got up we recorded it that day. Here’s the footage from that day, full video on YouTube now x

I wanted fans to all come to this special first pop up Old Phone pub gig to all be there for the same reason, and emotionally connected. I wanted everyone in that room to have felt the same feelings of nostalgia, longing, joy and sadness I had felt from going through my old phone. I asked all of them to submit a video, a photo or a message from their old phone that meant a lot to them to get into the gig that night, and we all shared in a night of music, dancing, laughing and tears. It was really magical, maybe my favourite music video I’ve ever made. Shout out to @emilnava for making my dream happen, all the amazing people who built the Old Phone pub for one night only in Ipswich MA, and of course, all the wonderful people of Ipswich MA who made us feel so welcome that day. The music video is out now, enjoy. More to come x
Brought the Old Phone for a homecoming show in Ipswich today. Thank you to @fishclawband for rocking it with me and for everyone who came down. Old Phone out now x
Hey guys. Something incredibly exciting to announce. One of the first ever concerts I went to as a kid was at Ipswich Town Portman Road to see Elton John. James Blunt opened for him, and I got so obsessed with James’ music, it really shaped me as a singer songwriter from then on. I started doing shows around ipswich as a young teenager, in pubs and bars, then moved to London to ‘make it’ because that’s what you did back then. Then things took off for me and I toured the world, but never ended up playing ipswich really, for whatever reason, but mostly because I lived there and thought if I’m gonna do it, it has to be special. I wanted to play Portman Road in 2019 when we finished the Divide tour, but because of the football season we ended up playing the big park. It’s always been such a dream to play Portman Road that I kept badgering the @ipswichtown team, but because I tour so much and football is very rigid in their schedule I always missed the opportunity to play it. Fast forward to now, having become an investor in Ipswich Town, I got a bit more sway and asked if I could launch my new record there, as a one off weekend of shows, and they agreed. I play all around the world, in such amazing stadiums, but nothing means as much as this one here. This really is a true home coming, and is 3 nights only. It’ll be such a special weekend of shows, with a killer line up (shout out @jamesblunt for coming back and completing the circle).
If you wanna get early access to tickets, pre order Play from my official store by 3pm BST on Tuesday 6th of may. Presale begins 10am BST Wednesday 7th of may, and general sale is 10am BST Friday 9th of May. These tickets will go very, very quickly so please make sure you sign up early if you wanna come. I can’t wait to do these shows, It’ll be a weekend i’ll remember for the rest of my life. See you there gang x
Play was an album that was made as a direct response to the darkest period of my life. Coming out of all of that I just wanted to create joy and technicolour, and explore cultures in the countries I was touring. I made this record all over the world, finished it in Goa, India, and had some of the most fun, explorative creative days of my life. It’s a real rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, it encapsulates everything that I love about music, and the fun in it, but also where I am in life as a human, a partner, a father. Going into this album campaign I said to myself ‘I just want everything I do to be fun and playful’ - so that’s why we are building pubs for folk jams, doing gigs on open top busses and singing in pink cowboy hats on bars. The older I get the more I just want to enjoy things, and savour the moments that are mad and chaotic. You can preorder play now, many many more playful things to come before it’s out. Old Phone also out today, go listen x
I wrote Old Phone whilst in India finishing my album. It came by accident, because I was jet lagged and woke up at 2am. Everyone else was asleep, so I thought ‘might as well write a song’ and this was the first idea in my notes. Here’s me singing it on the beach in India shortly after writing it. Old Phone out tomorrow everywhere. Go find your old phone and do a dump of the photos with the Old Phone sound attached, I wanna see pure nostalgia, tag me so I can see it x
